Working to Live in Accordance with the Example of Christ in Our Actions
Working to Live in Accordance with the Example of Christ in Our Words
All that the church is commanded to do by Scripture falls within three categories: evangelism (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, II Timothy 2:2), edification (I Corinthians 14:12, Hebrews 5:12-6:2), and benevolence (Matthew 22:27-40, James 1:27, Galatians 6:10). The West Riverside congregation fulfills these works in various ways as you have seen above.
The West Riverside church of Christ is a very active church involved in many areas of the Lord’s work. Titus 2:11-14 says, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” The congregation is enthusiastic about every good work.
